In this tutorial you will connect companion plugins in BuddyNext. Each one adds a whole feature to your community, such as forums, courses or events. You need BuddyNext, the free plugin, and the companion plugins you want. Four of the integrations need BuddyNext Pro, and the voice says which. It takes about three minutes. There are six steps. Open Add-ons. Read a card. Open Integration Settings. Choose where each one appears. Check the versions. Then see it as a member. Step one. Open Add-ons. In the WordPress admin, open BuddyNext, then Platform, then Add-ons. This page lists the companion plugins BuddyNext works with. There are eight. MediaVerse, Jetonomy, Gamification, Career Board, Learnomy, Listora, Eventonomy, and WB Member Blog. Step two. Read a card. Each card names the plugin and what it is for. The badge reads Connected when the plugin is active on this site. The green line is what your members get from it. For Learnomy, completed courses and certificates on member profiles. MediaVerse, Jetonomy, Gamification and WB Member Blog connect with the free plugin. Career Board, Learnomy, Listora and Eventonomy connect through BuddyNext Pro. Step three. Open Integration Settings. It is its own item in the BuddyNext menu. Add-ons is where you install. This page is where you decide what each one does. Every active integration has a box, with its name, a status badge, and the version installed. Step four. Choose where each one appears. Show in navigation adds its tab to the member menus. Post to the activity feed lets its new activity appear in the community feed. Some have Include in search, so members can find that content in community search. Switching it off also removes what was already indexed. Navigation sub-tabs turns single tabs on or off. For Career Board, Jobs and Resume. Every switch starts on. Change what you need, then click Save changes. Step five. Check the versions. The badge on each box reads Active when the plugin and its integration match. Newer partner means the plugin is newer than the version this integration was built for. It keeps working. If a plugin is too old, the badge asks you to update it. Step six. See it as a member. Sign in as a member. The integrations add their own links to the side menu. Leaderboard comes from Gamification, and Media from MediaVerse. On a profile, they add tabs. Media, Discussions, Articles and Achievements sit beside the posts. That is all six. Add-ons opened, a card read, Integration Settings opened, the places chosen, the versions checked, and the result seen as a member. Your community can now grow by whole features, one plugin at a time. Next in this series: Use BuddyNext with WPMediaVerse.
