Yes - points, ranks, and badges are built into BuddyNext, not bolted on. Skool's edge is that gamification is the centre of its product and tuned as the main engagement loop, so if a leaderboard is the heart of your community, weigh that focus. BuddyNext gives you the same mechanics while keeping full control of the rest of the stack.
No. BuddyNext takes no platform cut. Skool's entry Hobby plan takes roughly 10% of what you charge members (its Pro plan removes that). With BuddyNext Pro, the only fee on a sale is your own payment processor's, such as Stripe.
A hosted plan billed in another currency moves with the exchange rate and your card's conversion fee, so the monthly cost in Canadian dollars, euros or rupees can land well above the headline number, and it recurs every month.
