How to use BuddyNext with Eventonomy, step by step. The Eventonomy integration is part of BuddyNext Pro. With it, a public event is posted to the activity feed with Going and Maybe buttons, and an answer of Going posts its own card. Every member gets an Events tab on their profile with Organizing and Going, and a side menu link to it. A space owner turns on Events tab under the space's Settings, then Integrations, and the space gets its own list and calendar. An Upcoming events card sits beside the feed. Site owners choose Show in navigation, Post to the activity feed and Include in search on BuddyNext, then Integration Settings.

In this tutorial you will use BuddyNext with Eventonomy. Eventonomy runs the events. BuddyNext shows them in the feed, on member profiles and inside spaces. You need BuddyNext Pro. The Eventonomy integration is part of Pro. You also need BuddyNext and Eventonomy, which are both free. It takes about three minutes. There are six steps. Check the integration. See events in the feed. Find your events. Give a space its events. See what is coming up. Then choose what the integration does. Step one. Check the integration. In the WordPress admin, open BuddyNext, then Integration Settings. With BuddyNext Pro and Eventonomy active, there is a box named Events. Its badge reads Active, with the Eventonomy version installed. There is nothing to connect by hand. Step two. See events in the feed. Sign in as a member. When a public event is published, a card is posted to the activity feed under the organiser's name. Scheduled an event. The card shows the date, the place, and how many are going. Members answer from the card, with Going or Maybe. An answer of Going posts a second card under that member's name, is attending. Maybe posts nothing. Step three. Find your events. In the side menu, under You, click Events. It opens the Events tab of your own profile. Going lists the upcoming events you said yes to. Organizing lists the ones you run. Anyone who visits your profile sees these two lists. Maybe is shown to you only. On the right, Browse all opens every event on the site. Step four. Give a space its events. As the owner of a space, open the space, click Settings, then Integrations. Find the row named Events tab. It is off for a new space. Under it, Only organisers can add events decides who may add one. Turn Events tab on, then click Save changes at the foot of the page. The space then has an Events tab, as a List or a Calendar. Create event makes a new event here, and Link event adds one that already exists. Step five. See what is coming up. Back as a member, on Activity. The column on the right has a card named Upcoming events. It lists up to three public events that are still to come. See all events opens the full list. Step six. Choose what the integration does. Back on Integration Settings, in the Events box. Show in navigation adds the Events tabs, the side menu link and the Upcoming events card. Post to the activity feed adds the event cards. Include in search adds events to community search. All three start on. Change one, then click Save changes. That is all six. The integration checked, events seen in the feed, your events found, a space given its events, upcoming events seen, and the integration set. Your events are now part of the daily life of your community. Next in this series: Use BuddyNext with Career Board.
