You run a community and want members to pay for a plan. In this video you will get paid for memberships with Stripe in BuddyNext. Stripe takes the card on its own secure page, so you never handle card details. You need BuddyNext Pro and a Stripe account. It takes about three minutes. There are five steps. Open the Stripe box. Add your secret key. Connect the webhook. Check the Connected badge. Then see checkout as a member. Step one. Open the Stripe box. In the WordPress admin, open BuddyNext, Monetization, then Payment Gateways. Stripe has its own box. Enable Stripe is the switch. When it is on, Stripe is offered at checkout once its keys are in. Step two. Add your secret key. Secret key is the first field. In Stripe, open Developers, then API keys, and copy it here. Checkout is hosted by Stripe, so there is no publishable key to paste. The key starts with sk test or sk live, and that tells BuddyNext whether you are testing or taking real payments. Step three. Connect the webhook. The webhook tells your site when a payment settles, a plan renews or a card fails. Webhook endpoint URL is the address Stripe calls. Click Copy, and paste it into Stripe. How to set this up lists each step, and the events to add. Stripe then shows a Webhook signing secret. Paste it into the field of that name, and click Save changes. Step four. Check the Connected badge. After you save, BuddyNext asks Stripe about the key. Connected means Stripe accepted it. If the signing secret is missing, the message says payments will work, but renewals and cancellations will not be picked up. Step five. See checkout as a member. A member picks a paid plan and sees the order, with the total worked out. Continue to secure payment sends them to Stripe's own page to pay. Their card never touches your site. That is all five. The Stripe box opened, the secret key added, the webhook connected, the badge checked, and checkout seen as a member. Your members can now pay for a plan.
