How to Make Each Space One Place and Change Its Owner in BuddyNext

How to link a BuddyNext space to a course, event or forum, choose the tab it opens on, and change who owns it. In the space settings, Linked to lists each link with Remove link, and Space opens on sets the tab people land on. In the admin, BuddyNext, then Spaces has Change owner in each row's More actions menu. Search: change space owner BuddyNext, link space to course.

A space works best when it is the one place for a course or a topic, led by the right person. In this video you will link a space, choose its opening tab, and change its owner in BuddyNext. You need the free BuddyNext plugin. A link needs a partner plugin such as Learnomy. It takes about three minutes. There are three steps. See what a space is linked to. Choose the tab a space opens on. Then change who owns a space. Step one. See what a space is linked to. Open a space, then its settings. Linked to is the last tab before Danger zone, and it shows only while the space is linked to something. Click Linked to. This space follows a course, so people who get access to the course are added to the space. Remove link ends the link. The space and everyone in it stay. Step two. Choose the tab a space opens on. Back on the General tab, Space opens on sets the tab people land on. Site default uses the first tab. Or pick one, such as the course tab, so members of this space see it first. Links to a specific tab or post still go where they point. Then click Save changes. Step three. Change who owns a space. In the WordPress admin, open BuddyNext, then Spaces. Each row has a More actions menu. Click it, and choose Change owner. A dialog asks for the New owner. Type three letters of a name, and pick the person from the list. Any member who is not banned from the space can lead it. The current owner stays in the space as a member. Click Change owner to finish, or Cancel to leave things as they are. That is all three.
