How to give kudos to a member in BuddyNext, step by step. With the WB Gamification plugin active, every profile has a Kudos tab under Achievements. Open it on another member's profile, write an optional message of up to 255 characters, and click Send kudos. The kudos appears under Kudos received on their profile, and both members earn points. Site owners set the points on Gamification, then Kudos (points per kudos received, points per kudos given, and how many kudos a day earn points) and can review or revoke kudos on Gamification, then Kudos Moderation.

In this tutorial you will give kudos to a member in BuddyNext. Kudos is a public thank you, from one member to another. You need BuddyNext, the free plugin, and the WB Gamification plugin, which keeps kudos and points. It takes about three minutes. There are six steps. Open the Kudos tab. Write a few words. Send the kudos. See it on the profile. Set the points for kudos. Then review kudos as the owner. Step one. Open the Kudos tab. Sign in as a member, and open the profile of the member you want to thank. Click the Achievements tab. Under it are the sub-tabs. Click Kudos. Step two. Write a few words. The tab opens with a box, Give kudos to, and the member name. Below it is the list of kudos they have received. Say what the thanks is for. The message is optional, and it can be up to two hundred and fifty five characters. Step three. Send the kudos. Click Send kudos. It is sent the moment you click, and the member is told with a notification. You cannot take a kudos back yourself, so read your words once before you send. You can thank any member except yourself. Step four. See it on the profile. After sending, the box is replaced by a line. You gave this member kudos. You can thank the same member again after an hour. Your kudos is now at the top of Kudos received, with your name and your words. Everyone who can see the profile can see it. Step five. Set the points for kudos. As the site owner, open Gamification in the WordPress admin, then Kudos. Both members earn points for a kudos. Points per kudos received is five. Points per kudos given is two. Kudos per day that earn points is five. A member can give more than that in a day, but the extra ones earn no points. Change a number, then click Save Changes. Step six. Review kudos as the owner. Kudos Moderation, in the same Gamification menu, lists every kudos, with who gave it, who received it, and the message. Filter it by member or by date. Revoke, on a row, takes a kudos back and removes the points both members earned. It asks for a reason first. That is all six. The Kudos tab opened, a few words written, the kudos sent, the kudos seen on the profile, the points set, and kudos reviewed as the owner. A thank you now takes one click, and everyone can see it.
