Transcript

In this tutorial you will save a post for later in BuddyNext. Saved posts go to a private list named Bookmarks. You need BuddyNext, the free plugin. Bookmarks are on from the start. It takes about two minutes. There are four steps. Save a post. Open your bookmarks. Remove a bookmark. Then switch bookmarks on or off. Step one. Save a post. Sign in as a member, and find a post you want to keep. Under it, the last button is Save. Click it once. The button fills in and changes colour, like this one on a post that is already saved. Nothing is added to the feed, and the author is not told. Step two. Open your bookmarks. In the menu on the left, under You, click Bookmarks. Every post you saved is here, the latest save first. Only you can see this page. From here you can read a post, react, comment, or open it on its own page. One thing to know. If you can no longer see a post, because it was deleted, or its author blocked you, it is left out of this list. Step three. Remove a bookmark. Each saved post still has its Save button, filled in. Click it, and the post is no longer saved. It works the same anywhere you meet the post. In the feed, on a profile, or on the post's own page. The post itself is not touched. Step four. Switch bookmarks on or off. In your WordPress admin, open BuddyNext, then Platform, then Features, and find Bookmarks. It is on by default. Switch it off, and the Save button is removed from every post. The Bookmarks item leaves the menu too, and the Bookmarks page sends members to Activity instead. That is all four. A post saved, your bookmarks opened, a bookmark removed, and the Bookmarks switch found. Your members can now keep the posts they want to find again. Next in this series: Use hashtags.
