In this tutorial you will work through the moderation queue in BuddyNext. The queue is the list of everything your members have reported. You need BuddyNext, the free plugin. The queue is for site administrators and community moderators. It takes about three minutes. There are six steps. Open the queue. Sort by most reported. Dismiss or remove. Use the More menu. Check the other tabs. Then use the admin table. Step one. Open the queue. On your site, open Settings, click Community Admin at the end of the tabs, then Moderation. The number beside it is how many reports are open. Each row is one reported item. It shows the reason, the first line of what was reported, how many members reported it, and when. Step two. Sort by most reported. Above the list are two lists and a Filter button. The first narrows the queue to posts, comments, messages, profiles or spaces. The second sorts it. Choose Most reported, then click Filter. Now the item with the most reporters is on top. Five members reported this post, so its row is marked in red. Step three. Dismiss or remove. Two buttons sit on every row. Dismiss closes the report with no action. Use it when the content is fine. Remove takes the post or comment down, and closes the report. It asks you to confirm first. Step four. Use the More menu. The three-dot button opens the rest. View reported item opens the post in a new tab. Resolve closes the report as handled. Escalate flags it for a second opinion, and keeps it in the queue. On a post, you can add a content warning, which blurs it behind a label. The last items act on the person, not the post. Warn author, Strike author, Reverse last strike, and Suspend author. Step five. Check the other tabs. Beside Reports are four more. Appeals, Pending joins, Recent signups, and Recent actions. Recent actions lists what the team has done lately, with who did it and why. Every decision in the queue is recorded. Step six. Use the admin table. Site administrators have the same reports in the WordPress admin, under BuddyNext, Moderation, Reports. Here you can also filter by reason. Moderation Log, in the same menu, is the full record of every action, and Export C S V downloads it. With BuddyNext Pro, the Automation menu under it gains two tabs. Rules, and Bulk Moderation. That is all six. The queue opened, sorted by most reported, a report dismissed or removed, the More menu used, the other tabs checked, and the admin table found. You can now clear a queue of reports quickly and fairly. Next in this series: Warn, strike or suspend a member.
