In this tutorial you will find your way around the BuddyNext admin, so you know where every setting lives. You need BuddyNext, the free plugin, active on your site. It takes about three minutes. There are five steps. Open the BuddyNext menu. Members and Spaces. Engagement to Automation. Platform and Settings. Then search for any setting. Step one. Open the BuddyNext menu. In your WordPress admin, click BuddyNext. It opens on Get Started, then Home. Every BuddyNext screen is in this panel on the left. The sections run from setup at the top to settings at the bottom. The cards on Home are shortcuts to the screens a new community needs first. Step two. Members and Spaces. Click Members to open the section. Anything about people is here: the Directory, Registration and Login, Roles and Capabilities, and Privacy and Data. Labels is a Pro tab. Spaces is next. It has the Directory of every space, and Settings for who can create one. Step three. Engagement to Automation. Engagement covers the feed: Activity, Insights, Announcements and Social. Notifications holds the notification defaults and everything about email, including the templates and the log. Moderation is the daily work: Pending, Reports, Suspensions, Appeals and the Moderation Log. Automation holds what you set once and leave running. Controls is in the free plugin. Rules and Bulk Moderation are Pro tabs. Step four. Platform and Settings. Platform holds Features, where you switch whole features on and off, plus Add-ons, Tools, Webhooks and Plugin isolation. Integration Settings is its own section. It controls how each companion plugin shows up inside BuddyNext. Settings is last: General, Appearance, Navigation, and Pages and URLs. Monetization, Campaigns, and Realtime and Push are in the list only when BuddyNext Pro is active. Step five. Search for any setting. Click Search at the top of any BuddyNext screen, or press Command K on a Mac, Control K on Windows. Type what you are looking for. Here, registration. The matching screens and settings are listed, each with the section it lives in. Click one to go straight there. That is all five. The BuddyNext menu opened, Members and Spaces, Engagement to Automation, Platform and Settings, and search for anything else. You now know where every part of the admin lives. Next in this series: Run the setup wizard.
