In this tutorial you will share a post in BuddyNext. You can repost it inside the community, or send its link somewhere else. You need BuddyNext, the free plugin. Sharing is on from the start. It takes about three minutes. There are five steps. Open the Share box. Repost it to your feed. Send the link elsewhere. Find or remove your repost. Then switch reposts on or off. Step one. Open the Share box. Sign in as a member, and find a post worth passing on. Under it, click Share. A box named Share post opens. It shows the author and the first words of the post, so you can check it is the right one. Step two. Repost it to your feed. Click Repost, and the post appears in the feed as yours to share, with the original author named on it. To add your own words, type in the box above it first. The comment is optional. You can repost a post once. A second try is refused, and you are told you have already shared it. The repost keeps the audience of the original post. Step three. Send the link elsewhere. The row named Share to has links for X, Facebook, LinkedIn, WhatsApp and Email. Each one opens that service with the link to the post filled in. Copy link puts the address of the post on your clipboard, to paste anywhere. The Share to row shows only on a public post that anyone with the link can open. These links do not count as a repost. Step four. Find or remove your repost. This is a repost this member made earlier. Her comment is on top, and the original post sits inside it, with its author. If someone shares your repost, it is the original post that is shared, not a copy of a copy. The credit always goes to the first author. To take a repost back, open More options on it, and click Delete. The share is removed, and the original's count goes down by one. Step five. Switch reposts on or off. In your WordPress admin, open BuddyNext, then Platform, then Features, and find Re-shares. It is on by default. Switch it off, and Repost is removed. On a public post the Share button stays, with Copy link and the links to other sites. That is all five. The Share box opened, a post reposted to your feed, the link sent elsewhere, your repost found, and the switch for reposts located. Good posts can now travel, inside your community and beyond it. Next in this series: Save a post for later.
