How to use BuddyNext with Career Board, step by step. The Career Board integration is part of BuddyNext Pro. With it, a published job is posted to the activity feed as a Job Listing card, a member's Portfolio tab lists the jobs they have open, and jobs are found in community search under the Jobs tab. With Career Board Pro, a public resume posts an Open to Work card and adds a Resume list to the member's Portfolio. Site owners choose Show in navigation, Post to the activity feed, Include in search and the sub-tabs on BuddyNext, then Integration Settings.

In this tutorial you will use BuddyNext with Career Board. It runs your job listings. BuddyNext shows new jobs in the feed, on member profiles and in search. You need BuddyNext Pro. The Career Board integration is part of Pro. You also need BuddyNext and WP Career Board, which are both free. The resume parts also need Career Board Pro. It takes about three minutes. There are five steps. Check the integration. See jobs in the feed. Show jobs on a profile. Search for jobs. Then choose what the integration does. Step one. Check the integration. In the WordPress admin, open BuddyNext, then Integration Settings. With BuddyNext Pro and Career Board active, there is a box named Career Board. Its badge reads Active. The line under the name gives the version installed, and the version that adds bell notifications. Step two. See jobs in the feed. Sign in as a member. When a job is published on the job board, a card marked Job Listing is posted to the activity feed. It is posted under the name of the member who posted the job, with the job title and its first lines. The title opens the job. With Career Board Pro, members have resumes. When a member makes a resume public, a card marked Open to Work is posted. Step three. Show jobs on a profile. Open the profile of a member who posts jobs, and click the Portfolio tab. Jobs lists the jobs that member has open. Each row gives the company, the place, the type of work and the salary. Click a row to open the job. With Career Board Pro, a member with a public resume gets a second list under Portfolio, Resume. Step four. Search for jobs. Jobs are part of community search. Search for a word, and the results have a tab named Jobs. Click it to see only the jobs that match. Each result opens the job on the job board. Step five. Choose what the integration does. Back on Integration Settings, in the same box. Show in navigation adds the lists to the Portfolio tab. Post to the activity feed adds the cards. Include in search adds jobs to community search. Under Navigation sub-tabs, Jobs, and Resume with Career Board Pro, each have their own switch. Every switch starts on. Change one, then click Save changes. That is all five. The integration checked, jobs seen in the feed, jobs shown on a profile, jobs searched, and the integration set. Your job board is now part of the conversation.
