How to use BuddyNext with Learnomy, step by step. The Learnomy integration is part of BuddyNext Pro. With it, a completed course or an earned certificate is posted to the activity feed as a Course card, a member's Portfolio tab lists Certifications and Teaching (and Learning on your own profile), a course can have its own private space where students are added as they enroll, and a membership plan can enrol its members in courses. Site owners choose what shows on BuddyNext, then Integration Settings.

In this tutorial you will use BuddyNext with Learnomy. Learnomy runs the courses. BuddyNext shows what members have finished, and gives a course its own community. You need BuddyNext Pro. The Learnomy integration is part of Pro. You also need BuddyNext and Learnomy, which are both free. It takes about three minutes. There are six steps. Check the integration. See finished courses in the feed. Show credentials on a profile. Give a course a community. Include courses in a plan. Then choose what members see. Step one. Check the integration. In the WordPress admin, open BuddyNext, then Integration Settings. With BuddyNext Pro and Learnomy active, there is a box named Learnomy. Its badge shows the status of the integration, with the Learnomy version installed. There is nothing to connect by hand. Step two. See finished courses in the feed. Sign in as a member. When a member completes a course, a card marked Course is posted to the activity feed. If the course gives a certificate, the card says so. Completed the course and earned a certificate. The title opens the certificate. Only a finished course is posted. Enrolling in a course, or being part way through, posts nothing. Step three. Show credentials on a profile. Open a member's profile and click the Portfolio tab. Certifications lists the courses that member has completed. A course with a certificate reads Certified under its name. Only finished courses are listed here. On your own profile, Portfolio also has Learning, the courses you are part way through. Other members do not see that list. Step four. Give a course a community. In the WordPress admin, open Learnomy, then Courses, and edit a course. In the column on the right is a box named Community. Turn on the switch, and the course gets a private space of its own. Students are added as they enroll, and removed when their access ends. The space carries a line at the top, Community for the course, with a button, Open course. Step five. Include courses in a plan. Open BuddyNext, Monetization, then Plans. In the plan form, scroll to the section named Linked Learnomy access. Pick one or more Courses. A member who gets the plan is enrolled in them, and when the plan ends, that access ends too. Step six. Choose what members see. Back on Integration Settings, in the Learnomy box. Show in navigation adds the lists to the Portfolio tab. Post to the activity feed adds the course cards. Under Navigation sub-tabs, Learning, Certifications and Teaching each have their own switch. Every switch starts on. Change one, then click Save changes. That is all six. The integration checked, finished courses seen in the feed, credentials shown on a profile, a course given a community, courses included in a plan, and what members see chosen. Your courses and your community now feed each other. Next in this series: Use BuddyNext with Eventonomy.
