In this tutorial you will read your community analytics in BuddyNext. You see how many members are active, which posts land, who comes back, and where new members drop off. You need BuddyNext Pro. The Analytics dashboard is a Pro feature. It takes about three minutes. There are six steps. Open Insights. Read the Overview. Change the time window. Check Cohorts and Funnel. See Profile views. Then export the numbers. Step one. Open Insights. In the WordPress admin, open BuddyNext, Engagement, then Insights. The box At a glance holds your running totals. Scroll down to the box named Analytics. This part comes with BuddyNext Pro, and only administrators see it. Step two. Read the Overview. The first three cards count active members. Today, this week, and this month. A member counts once, however much they do. The small percentage under a number compares it with the day, the week or the month before. Engagement rate is reactions plus comments, divided by posts. Above one means a post draws more than one response on average. Step three. Change the time window. Above the cards, click 7 days, 30 days, 90 days or 1 year. Or type a number of days in Custom range. Engagement rate, New signups, the Daily activity chart and the two tables follow the window. The three Active cards always show today, this week and this month. Top content ranks posts by reactions plus comments. Top members ranks people by how much they did. Step four. Check Cohorts and Funnel. Click Cohorts. Each row is the members who signed up in one week. The columns show what share of them came back, week after week. Now click Funnel. It follows the members of the last thirty days through four steps. Sign up, First post, Reaction received, and First follow. The table gives the count that reached each step, the drop-off, and the conversion from the step before. A big drop shows where new members get stuck. Step five. See Profile views. Click Profile views. A chart counts the views each day, and Top viewed profiles lists the members people look at most. Top viewers shows who looks at profiles most, and Privacy adoption shows how many members have chosen to hide their own visits. Step six. Export the numbers. Overview, Cohorts and Funnel each have an export button in the corner of the Analytics box. It downloads a spreadsheet file of that view. The figures can be up to five minutes old, so a post made a moment ago may not be counted yet. That is all six. Insights opened, the Overview read, the time window changed, Cohorts and Funnel checked, Profile views seen, and the numbers exported. You can now see what is working in your community, in numbers.
