In this tutorial you will schedule a post for later in BuddyNext. You write it now, and it publishes on its own at the time you pick. Scheduling is in BuddyNext, the free plugin. The admin queue, and scheduling as a plan perk, need BuddyNext Pro. It takes about three minutes. There are five steps. Open the scheduler. Pick the date and time. Find your scheduled posts. Manage the queue. Then choose who can schedule. Step one. Open the scheduler. On your site, open Activity, and write your post in the post box. Then click the clock under it. Its name is Schedule for later. Step two. Pick the date and time. A field named Publish at opens. Choose a day and a time that are still to come. The label names your site's time zone. The time you enter is read in that zone, not in the zone of the person writing. Then click Post. The post is held back from every feed, and nobody is notified, until its time. The cross beside the field cancels scheduling, and the post goes out now instead. Step three. Find your scheduled posts. Open your own profile, and click the Scheduled tab. Only you see this tab. It lists your posts that are waiting, and it is empty here because none is. To move a waiting post, edit it. The edit form has the same date and time field. Once a post is live, the field is gone. Step four. Manage the queue. This screen is BuddyNext Pro. In your WordPress admin, open BuddyNext, then Campaigns, then Scheduled Posts. It lists every waiting post in the community, the soonest first. Publish now sends one post out ahead of its time. Cancel returns it to a draft, so the words are kept. It is not deleted. Publish overdue posts now sends every post whose time has already passed. Step five. Choose who can schedule. Open BuddyNext, then Members, then Roles and Capabilities, and find Schedule posts. It starts on All members. With BuddyNext Pro memberships on, and a default plan in effect, the plan decides as well. Edit a plan under Monetization, then Plans, and find Scheduled Posts. This is the Free plan, and the switch is off. A member on a plan with it off does not see the clock in the post box at all. That is all five. The scheduler opened, the date and time picked, your scheduled posts found, the queue managed, and who can schedule chosen. Your posts can now go out when they matter, not only when you write them. Next in this series: Pin more than one post to a profile.
