How to ban a member from a space in BuddyNext, step by step. A space owner or moderator bans from the space's Settings, then Members tab. The person is removed from that one space and cannot rejoin until they are unbanned from the Banned members list. Their account and their other spaces are not affected.

In this tutorial you will ban a member from one space in BuddyNext, and learn how to lift the ban later. You need BuddyNext, the free plugin, and a space you own or moderate. It takes about two minutes. There are four steps. Open the member rows. Ban the member. Review and lift a ban. Then check it as the banned person. Step one. Open the member rows. Open your space, click Settings, then Members. The owner and the moderators of a space can ban from here. A ban covers this one space. The person keeps their account, their other spaces, and everything else on your site. Step two. Ban the member. Find the person, click the red Ban button, and confirm. They are taken out of the space at once. After that, every attempt to join it, or to request to join, is refused. If the person may come back later, use Remove instead. A removed member can ask to join again. The owner cannot be banned. The owner row has no buttons. Step three. Review and lift a ban. Lower on the same tab is Banned members. It lists everyone who is blocked from this space. Unban lifts the block. It does not put the person back in the space. They join again the normal way, as a regular member. Step four. Check it as the banned person. Sign in as the person you banned, and open the space. There is no button to join, and no button to request. Everywhere else, nothing has changed for them. On the Spaces page, their other spaces still read Joined, and this one has no button. That is all four. The member rows opened, the ban explained, the banned list reviewed, and the result checked as the banned person. You can now keep one space safe without touching the rest of your community. Next in this series: Set how much a space notifies its members.
