How to put a BuddyNext community screen on any page, step by step. Every hub (activity feed, members directory, spaces, messages, notifications, login) has its own address under BuddyNext, then Settings, then Pages & URLs, and its own shortcode: buddynext_activity, buddynext_people, buddynext_spaces, buddynext_messages, buddynext_notifications and buddynext_auth, each in square brackets.

In this tutorial you will put a BuddyNext community screen on any page of your site, with a shortcode. You need BuddyNext, the free plugin. It takes about three minutes. There are five steps. Open Pages and URLs. See the shortcode behind a hub. Place it on a page of your own. Change a hub address. Then check the page on your site. Step one. Open Pages and URLs. In your WordPress admin, open BuddyNext, then Settings, then Pages and URLs. Each community screen is a hub: the activity feed, the members directory, spaces, messages, notifications and login. Every hub already has an address, so you do not have to place anything by hand. Step two. See the shortcode behind a hub. A hub can have a backing page. Click Edit under it to open that page. The Activity page holds one shortcode, buddynext activity, in square brackets. Wherever that tag sits, the activity feed appears. The other hubs work the same way. The Spaces page holds buddynext spaces. Step three. Place it on a page of your own. Open any page in the editor, click the plus button, and search for Shortcode. Add the Shortcode block, and type the tag in square brackets. In a classic theme or a page builder, paste the same tag into the page content. If you build with blocks, BuddyNext adds its own as well, such as Member Directory. Give each full screen a page of its own. Step four. Change a hub address. Back on Pages and URLs, URL slug is the last part of the address of each hub. Changing a slug changes the address, so links to the old one stop working. A backing page is optional. Assign one only if you want a page builder layout, a real menu entry, or page level SEO for that hub. Then click Save changes. Step five. Check the page on your site. Sign in as a member and open the hub address, here activity. The feed is there, with the composer at the top. A page of your own that carries the shortcode shows this same screen. That is all five. Pages and URLs opened, the shortcode found, a page of your own covered, the hub address explained, and the page checked on your site. You can now put any community screen where you want it.
