In this tutorial you will set your community's name, logo and colours in BuddyNext. You need BuddyNext, the free plugin, and your logo as an image file. It takes about three minutes. There are four steps. Set the community name. Add your logo. Pick the brand colour. Then see it as a member. Step one. Set the community name. In your WordPress admin, open BuddyNext, then Settings, then General. Type the name in Community name. It is displayed in the site header, in emails and in the browser title. Add a short description below it. Then click Save changes, at the bottom of the page. Step two. Add your logo. Open Appearance, in the same Settings section. Click Select logo and pick an image from the media library. A wide image, around 160 by 40, works best. Leave it empty, and the community name is shown instead. Step three. Pick the brand colour. Click the swatch to pick a colour, or paste a hex code. This one colour is used for buttons, links, active tabs and badges. Under Default theme, choose Auto, Light or Dark. It applies to visitors who have not picked a theme themselves. Then click Save changes. Step four. See it as a member. Now sign in as a member and open the feed. Your logo is at the top of the navigation. The Post button, the active tab and the links all use your brand colour. That is all four. A community name, a logo, a brand colour, and the result seen as a member. Your community now carries your name and your colours. Next in this series: Choose who can register, and how.
