For community owners: This page is written for your members, not for you. Feel free to copy it into an announcement, an email, or a welcome post after you switch to BuddyNext, so people recognize the new names for the features they already know.

Welcome to our refreshed community. It is faster, cleaner, and easier to use - but a few things have new names and live in slightly new places. Here is a quick tour so you feel at home right away.

Good news first

Your account still works. Same login, same password. You do not need to sign up again.
You are still a member. Nothing about your membership changed - just the experience around it.

What has new names

Groups are now Spaces. Spaces are the same idea - focused corners of the community for a topic, team, or interest. Browse the Spaces directory and join the ones you care about.
Friends are now Connections. A Connection is the same two-way relationship: you send a request, the other person accepts, and you are connected. You can also simply Follow someone to keep up with them without a mutual request.
The activity stream is now the Feed. It works the way you would expect - post, react, comment, share, and bookmark.

Where things live now

Messages are behind the messages icon in the header. Your private one-to-one conversations happen there.
Notifications are behind the bell icon in the header, with a live count of anything new - new followers, replies, mentions, and more. You can choose which events notify you and how in your notification preferences.
Your profile is yours to set up. Open it from the menu to add a photo, a cover image, a short bio, and your details.

A couple of quick things to do

Set up your profile again. Add a real photo and a short bio - a filled-out profile gets more follows, more replies, and more connection accepts than a blank one.
Join the spaces that matter to you. Head to the Spaces directory and join your groups so your feed shows what you care about.
Say hello. Post something in the feed so people know you are here.
