Goal: bring members back and guide new ones with email - one-off announcements and automated welcome or win-back series. You'll need: BuddyNext Pro. Time: about 20 minutes for a first broadcast; longer to design a drip series.

BuddyNext sends email in two shapes: broadcasts (one message, sent once to a group) and drip sequences (a series that sends automatically as members reach a stage). Use broadcasts for news, drips for onboarding and retention.

Before you start

  • Confirm your site can send email reliably. Test the transactional emails first so you know delivery works. Full guide: Email System.
  • Decide the one action you most want from this email - read a post, join a space, renew - and write toward it.

Steps

  1. Send a broadcast. Compose a message, choose who receives it, preview it, and send or schedule. Full guide: Broadcast Email.

  2. Build a welcome drip. Create a short series that greets new members, shows them how to post and join a space, and points at your best content over their first week. Full guide: Drip Sequences.

  3. Add a win-back step for paid communities. If you charge, let renewal reminders and a lapse follow-up recover subscriptions that would otherwise quietly end. Full guide: Renewal Reminders.

  4. Respect the inbox. Members already get notification emails and digests from BuddyNext. Coordinate your broadcasts with those so no one is over-mailed. Full guide: Email Digests and Notification Preferences.

What your members see

Members receive your broadcasts and drip messages alongside the notifications they have opted into, and can adjust what they get from their own notification preferences. BuddyNext only ever emails on your behalf for your community - it never emails on behalf of integrated plugins.
