BuddyNext - community engine for WordPress

Recipe: Make It Fully Your Own

Free & Pro

Goal: a community that looks and feels like your brand, with no sign it runs on BuddyNext. You'll need: BuddyNext Free for branding; Pro for full white-label and per-space branding. Time: about 30 minutes.

Before you start

  • Have your logo, brand colours, and (for Pro white-label) the plugin name you want members and admins to see.
  • Decide how far to take it: brand the front end only, or rename the whole thing in wp-admin too.

Steps

  1. Set your colours, logo, and appearance. Match the community to your site so it reads as one product, in light and dark mode. Full guide: Appearance and Branding.

  2. White-label the plugin (Pro). Rename the admin menu label so the plugin presents under your own name rather than "BuddyNext". Full guide: White-label.

  3. Brand individual spaces (Pro). Give flagship spaces their own header and identity, so a client or premium space feels bespoke. Full guide: Space Branding.

  4. Customize expression (Pro). Replace the default reaction set with reactions that fit your community's voice. Full guide: Custom Reactions.

  5. Restyle deeper with a child theme (developers). For pixel-level control, override templates and tokens from your theme rather than editing the plugin. Full guide: Child Theme Template Overrides and Customizing Cards.

What your members see

Members see your brand, not ours - your colours, your logo, your reactions, and (with white-label) your name throughout. The community feels native to your site rather than like a bolted-on plugin.
